Facebook helps us "never forget” by sharing memories from the past. Today, 9/11, is a perfect reminder to never forget the tragedy that occurred on this day in history 18 years ago. Facebook feeds are full of pictures and memories of the day the our world changed. Facebook remembers. Do you? What do you remember the most about that day?
As I think about this during this dreary, Minnesota day, my mind floods to those that lost loved ones on 9/11. I can imagine that last moments with those loved ones are forever cherished. And then I start thinking about loved ones we have lost: friends, grandparents, siblings. When you think of those loses, I imagine events or activities with them. Pictures often bring up those loving memories of times when we lost someone. The pictures may be of happy events like birthday or anniversaries, or of just regular events like the day in the life of a person. Whatever they represent, there’s a story to be told.
The stories we tell about 9/11 will continue on forever and ever. Make sure you remember to tell the stories of other tragedies, or exciting times in your world. Pictures will help you to never forget memories . . . organize them in a way that others will never forget as well!
The attached pictures were taken of my Grandmother who passed away from Cancer over 10 years ago. They were taken 2 weeks before she passed when most of our extended family packed into her dimly lit hospice room to tell stories, share laughter, and tears. I took a lot of pictures that day (as I do every day) - as I wanted to remember the love she shared with her family - in life and in death. Photos can tell those stories; as long as they are preserved, they will be forever remembered and cherished. #neverforget
