Looking at photos brings up stories - stories of times before, whether those times are from long ago or just yesterday. Either way, these stories, whether happy or sad, are meant to be shared.
In 2017, we lost an essential member of our family. Tragedy struck, and it was a trifecta of stress and anxiety due to two other family members suffering from illnesses at the time. Since we were the keepers of the photos, and everyone else was genuinely incapable of helping ready for a funeral, our family’s task was to create the trendy photo boards and slideshow for our beloved family member. It was such an emotional experience. Digging through old photo albums, searching for specific events in time that created stories you wanted to be remembered, and then meticulously placing them on boards to create a picture of a life well lived that ended too quickly. We were blessed at the time to have a saint of a friend who put the photo boards together due to the time crunch. In those stressful times, real angels come out of the woodwork!
It’s after the funeral that everyone is gone, and not meaning that in a negative way, that there is still work to be done. Friends are still there- but the emptiness sets in and of course there are things to be done before you can put some closure on the physical loss. An idea that we love was born. We disassembled the five photo boards and put them into a beautiful photobook. Also added was the funeral notice, the program from the service and because of technology, snaps of facebook comments from friends from far and near, as well as the eulogy and words from the pastor. These are things that were so wonderful to include in the book. And of course, by digitizing the photos, those memories can be passed around forever, too. The book is cherished, and honestly, probably one of the most extraordinary things I have created in 16 years of photo publishing. I sort of feel like during a funeral you are such an emotional wreck- by having something to look at a week, month or year later, you have time to process and continuously remember your loved one.

Allow My Foto Pal to do this work for you. We can remove photos from the board, digitize them, create a beautiful photo book, including whatever you want. During those stressful times, take some stress away. Count on us to make a unique memory book of your loved one’s life.
